We as a Nation are In Distress... But I will not stand together with Racists.

I thought long and hard about whether I should leave the upside down flag posted on my blog. After much thought and prayerful consideration, I decided to take it down. I still believe now, as I did before the election, that Obama is not a good choice for President, not based upon his skin color but rather based upon his views and positions on crucial issues. However, considering the news that various hate groups were using the "upside down flag" as a symbol in their protests of the inauguration, I did not wish to be viewed as alligned or even "one in spirit" with these groups who stand for everything that I firmly disagree with.

My objection and opposition to President-Elect Obama is based upon my view and perspective that is solely grounded in the issues that I believe will impact our country and world. In all honesty, I am of the opinion that the American people have elected what will be shown to be the most un-godly President we have ever had. For those who desire a more secularized government that is less beholden to people of faith, his presidency will undoubtedly be heralded as a return to reason, but for those such as myself who firmly believe that God is real, relevant and has a direct impact and interest in the actions we take as a country, I shudder at the reality that we have an incoming leader who is actively pro-abortion, and anti-christian in his views. I am consumed with concern for my children who will grow up in this country with a leader who will not actively seek God's guidance and protection for our nation except when it is publicly expedient or popular to do so. Instead we are now to be lead by a leader whose only loyalty is to his own public image and the illusion which he projects to the world. As a christian I will pray for my country's leaders but in my heart I am ever fearful of the new administration and its goals. While I pray that my fears are not realized, in my heart I cannot deny the evil storm I see approaching.
